Everyone knows the rules of
bingo, right? School age children play for fun or learning, and older folks try
to get lucky and win some money. Last but not least, bingo can be played at showers
to add some excitement.
In the most common variety,
the guest of honor becomes the bingo caller while opening her gifts. Each guest
receives a bingo card previously printed out. When a gift is opened, the guest looks
on her card and marks any squares that match the gift being opened. Once 5
in a row have been crossed off, the guest shouts bingo!!
The host of the shower can bring
small prizes to distribute to the first few winners.
The second variety of shower bingo is to play with the theme words, in regular bingo
style. This requires a caller to pick from the predetermined list of words and call
them out.
